June 2018 Wrap Up

Jen

Once again I’m super happy and surprised with all the reading that happened in this past month. I managed to read an entire trilogy and also finished off a couple of other series. Not to mention making some great progress on decreasing my physical TBR pile, which seems to have pretty much taken over and become my main focus so far this year.

Of Poseidon (Syrena Legacy #1) by Anna Banks → 3/5

Of Triton (Syrena Legacy #2) by Anna Banks → 3/5

The Young Elites (#1) by Marie Lu → 4/5

Save the Date by Morgan Matson → 5/5

Written in the Stars by Aisha Saeed → 4.5/5

Calamity (Reckoners #3) by Brandon Sanderson → 3.5/5

Shopaholic to the Stars (Shopaholic #7) by Sophie Kinsella → 2/5

The Throne of Fire (Kane Chronicles #2) by Rick Riordan → 3.5/5

Shopaholic to the Rescue (Shopaholic #8) by Sophie Kinsella → 3/5

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (#4) by J.K. Rowling → 5/5

The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo → 4/5

The Rose Society (#2) by Marie Lu → 4.5/5

The Midnight Star (#3) by Marie Lu → 4/5

My reading has still been really terrible lately. I did manage to read a fair bit in June, but still didn't finish as many books as I had intended.

Completed
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling  5/5
(I finally finished it!! Buddy reading this with Jen helped a lot because I was determined to keep up!)

June 2018 TBR

Jen
As per usual, I seem to be in the middle of multiple series at once because I just can’t help myself and am always starting a new series. It’s actually feeling quite overwhelming so if possible, I would love to focus on finishing up some series and (hopefully) not starting too many more! There are also a few other random books that have been on numerous past TBRs and I’d really like to get to them sooner rather than later!

Currently reading
The Young Elites (#1) by Marie Lu
Shopaholic to the Stars (Shopaholic #7) by Sophie Kinsella

Series to continue
The Throne of Fire (Kane Chronicles #2) by Rick Riordan
Of Triton (Syrena Legacy #2) by Anna Banks
Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2) by Veronica Rossi
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (#4) by J.K. Rowling
Calamity (Reckoners #3) by Brandon Sanderson
Shopaholic to the Rescue (Shopaholic #8) by Sophie Kinsella

Other books I want to read
Save the Date by Morgan Matson
I am so excited for this new release!! Morgan Matson is an auto buy author for me and she writes some AMAZING summer contemporaries (Second Chance Summer remains one of my all-time favourite books). Once I get my hands on this book the trouble will be waiting until I have a full day where I can just read to my heart’s content because I already know that I will not be able to put this book down until I’ve finished it.
The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas
The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis
Open Road Summer by Emery Lord
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Mel
I'm hoping to get a few more books read this month. I really need to catch up on my reading challenge (I'm about 12 books behind, which is terrible for me!) and some of these are audiobooks, which take no effort to actually listen to (and I need to opt for an audiobook instead of music - which is a hard choice when your current fave releases a new album!)

Want to finish
LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff
Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (audiobook)
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (audiobook)
Everless by Sara Holland

Want to continue
House of Cards by sugamins
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling
Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

Want to start
Whisper by Lynette Noni
The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green
Furyborn by Claire Legrand

May 2018 TBR

Jen

So I originally had my whole TBR all planned out but then I read a Sophie Kinsella book and loved it so much that this author is my new obsession and all I want to read for the moment. So I’ve decided to embark on what is probably her most well-known series.

However I’ve also started quite a few other series now and I feel that it’s starting to get a little out of control. So if my contemporary romance kick comes to an end then I would like to focus on those series, especially the few in which I only have the final book left to read. It’s such a great feeling to complete a series! I would also love to make some progress with the two classics that I’ve been mostly neglecting for a couple of months now. And also because I just can’t help myself, I’ve included a few standalones that I’ve felt the urge to read, even though I likely won’t get to all these books.

Confessions of a Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella

Mel
I'll be happy to finish the books I started last month, but I have a few more that I want to fit in as well. I have been a bit more productive lately (seriously guys, start a bullet journal!), but I'm still trying to find a balance in regards to what I schedule in a day. I tend to get tired of too much repetition, so I need to break up my days into some kind of variation. As well as reading, I'm studying, writing and learning languages, but fitting those into every day doesn't really work the way I want it to. Things I enjoy become more of a chore, and I don't want that. Anyway, on with the TBR!

Want to finish
Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (might alternate between audiobook and physical copy)
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (Audiobook)

Books I want to start
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare (Audiobook)
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton - This will be a reread, to refresh the story before I continue on with the series.

Want to continue
House of Cards by sugamins
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling - I started this so long ago! I really need to get back into it!
Everless by Sara Holland - Another book that I started this ages ago! (December)
