December 2018 TBR

Jen
It’s coming to the end of the year and I still have so much reading I want to squeeze in. This is another crazy ambitious TBR and I know that I won’t be getting to all these books, but here we go anyway!

My sudden re-obsession with manga is still going strong so I’m going to continue with it and try and finish the series that I started last month.
A Silent Voice Volumes 5 - 7 by Yoshitoki Oima
Parasyte Volumes 2 - 8 by Hitoshi Iwaaki
Deadman Wonderland Volumes 5 - 13 by Jinsei Kataoka
Girlfriends Volumes 4 & 5 by Milk Morinaga

It’s also thanks to my manga kick that I barely got to any of the books that I wanted to in November. I still want to try and get to them this month though!
The Dark Artifices trilogy by Cassandra Clare
Lady Midnight (#1) - currently reading
Lord of Shadows (#2)
Queen of Air and Darkness (#3)
I started my re-read of Lady Midnight, got about 20% in and just didn’t pick it back up! There’s no way I’ll be done re-reading before the final book comes out but I desperately want to get to it ASAP! It’s one of my most anticipated books of 2018 and I’d love to finish the trilogy!

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
Crash Into You (#3)
Take Me On (#4)
Chasing Impossible (#5)
I really don’t see myself finishing up this series this month, which is kind of annoying since I read the first book back at the start of 2018 and gave myself almost the entire year to read the rest of the series. I can’t explain why, but I would always put off picking up the next book, only to end up really liking it once I actually read it.

The Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks
The Way of Shadows (#1) - currently reading
Shadow’s Edge (#2)
Beyond the Shadows (#3)
This series has been on my radar for a long time now and one day I was in the mood for an adult epic fantasy so I dove into this one. I started the first book, really enjoyed the little that I read, but unfortunately never picked it back up! I’d like to at least get further into The Way of Shadows even if I don’t end up finishing it this month.

Then there comes the Christmas-y books that I’ve been saving and waiting to read in December. Such an ambitious list but I’m going to do my best to get to them, otherwise it’ll be another year long wait!
Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares (#1) by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily (#2) by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
Snow in Love by Melissa de la Cruz, Nic Stone, Aimee Friedman, Kasie West
What Light by Jay Asher

At this point, I've pretty much given up on completing my Goodreads challenge. It's really not been a good year for reading for me. To be honest, I have no idea where the year went. Last time I looked, it was July, I swear! Anyway, I'm not going to stress over completing challenges or meeting any kind of expectations. I'll choose a few shorter reads, like manga or short stories, just to take it easy for a while. Either way, no set TBR for me this month ^.^
