Mel's February & March 2018 Book Haul

February

I didn't get too many books in Feb, but the ones I got were pricey and I had them on Lay-by since December! (How to buy books when you're broke, right?)

Otherworld by Jason Segal and Kirsten Miller - When I read the synopsis of this book, I got some serious Ready Player One vibes, so I thought, why not?

The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli - I've heard a lot of good things about this book and Big W finally got it in, so this was definitely going into the shopping basket!

City of Bones 10th Anniversary Edition by Cassandra Clare - As one of my favourite series, how could I not buy this?

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Illustrated Edition by JK Rowling - Another to add to my Harry Potter collection!

Harry Potter: A History of Magic by JK Rowling and the British Library - Ditto.

March

I'm glad that I waited to post this (not intentional!) because I only bought one book and recieved one by surprise, so I really wouldn't have wanted to make a whole haul post for just two books.

Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings - Big W near me finally had this in, so I picked up a copy.

Harry Potter: The Wand Collection by Monique Peterson - This book came in Loot Crate's The Wizarding World of JK Rowling box. It's such a cute little book, and shows all of the wands used in the Harry Potter films.

April 2018 TBR

Jen
I have quite a lot of work related courses happening this month that I really need to focus on so that leaves precious little time for reading. Obviously I would love to read a whole lot more than this, but I forced myself to just stick to the books I most want to read and what I’m currently reading. I'll most likely end up reading some books that aren't on this list anyway, but I would love to finish a couple of these books and clear them off this list!

Currently reading
Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
Graevale (The Medoran Chronicles #4) by Lynette Noni
Firefight (Reckoners #2) by Brandon Sanderson
The Babysitter by Sheryl Brown

Other books I want to read
Hallowed (Unearthly #2) by Cynthia Hand
Head Over Heels (Geek Girl #5) by Holly Smale
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (#2) by J.K. Rowling
The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black
The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis
The Young Elites (#1) by Marie Lu

Mel
I've been bullet journalling for the past two weeks and it's been a fair bit of help organising my time, but I still haven't really dedicated myself to reading as much as I should be. 10 minute intervals is slowly getting me back into the habit of picking up a book at least once a day, so I'm hoping to actually finish more than one book this month. We'll see how I go. I also want to continue the fanfiction that's been taking forever to get through. In the meantime, here's a list of books I want to choose from.

Illuminae, Gemina and Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - I have all of these on Audible, so I should really be listening to the first two while I do menial tasks, then move onto Obsidio (paperback because it's the first read, just a habit I like), which I'm really excited to read!

Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner - I've been wanting to read this since I bought it, so I really want to get going with this book!

Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings - This is also a book I've wanted to read since I bought it, but since I've already read the start of this (back before it was picked up by a publisher) I think I should continue.

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes - This will be a reread, but since I finally have the next four books in the series, I want to reread this as a refresher. I've already started it, and I know I'll fly through it, so I shouldn't have an issue really getting into the story. If I finish it, I might just want to continue the series right away, but who knows. We'll just have to wait and see!

March 2018 Wrap Up

Jen
I’m pretty happy with what I managed to read in March. I read some great new books, re-read an old favourite and made good progress again in reducing my physical TBR!

The Girl in 6E (Deanna Madden #1) by A.R. Torre → 3.5/5
Do Not Disturb (Deanna Madden #2) by A.R. Torre → 4/5
If You Dare (Deanna Madden #3) by A.R. Torre → 2/5
Steelheart (Reckoners #1) by Brandon Sanderson → 4/5
Mitosis (Reckoners #1.5) by Brandon Sanderson → 4/5
Grace on the Court by Maddy Proud → 4.5/5
A Wrinkle in Time (Time Quintet #1) by Madeleine L'Engle → 3/5
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (#1) by J.K. Rowling → 5/5
Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits #1) by Katie McGarry → 3.75/5
Obsidio (The Illuminae Files #3) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff → 5/5

Mel
I didn't get a whole lot of reading done in March, but at least I finished a book! Starting a bullet journal has helped out a bit there, but I still only read for 10 minute intervals, which definitely needs improving.

Harry Potter: The Wand Collection by Monique Peterson - 5/5
