October
Nightmares & Dreamscapes by Stephen King - I found this at the same op shop, also $3. Finally added a hardcover to my Stephen King collection!
One Punch Man by Yusuke Murata - I got this in a Loot Crate Loot Anime box. I've already read this one. It's quite a funny read, so I recommend it!
The Healthy Kitchen: Sugar Free - I found this in The Reject Shop. Don't let that price sticker fool you, I bought this for $1!
Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven - This came in The YA Chronicles (the September box was late, so it could have been that or October. I've forgotten which). I have already read this one, and really enjoyed it!
The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling - I finally bought this! For all the years it's been out, I never got around to purchasing it!
A Tyranny of Petticoats edited by Jessica Spotswood - This was dirt cheap for a hardcover novel! $6.95!
Kinslayer by Jay Kristoff - I found this in Cheap As Chips for $4.
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson - I fell in love with this edition! I don't think the rest of the series is going to be released with the same format, but I planned to get the set in one of the usual covers anyway!
The Young Elites by Marie Lu - I'd been curious about this series for ages, so I bought this to get an idea about what it was all about. I definitely enjoyed it, but I do think the series is a bit overhyped.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Illustrated Edition by JK Rowling - Because Illustrated Harry Potter! Plus an adorable Pigwidgeon plushie that came in Loot Crate's first ever Wizarding World of JK Rowling box!
I found a bunch of hardcover graphic novels in the same op shop as the other two books in this haul, all $3 each. I already have someone offering me $5 each when I'm done with them, so that was definitely a bargain!
November
Heartless by Marissa Meyer - This came in the November YA Chronicles box, and I couldn't be happier! It's such a beautiful book and I can't wait to read it!
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess - I found this in the op shop for $1 if I remember correctly. I had to read a few paragraphs of this for uni last year, and someone recommended it to me, so I grabbed it, since it was so cheap!
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee - Mum gave this to me once she'd finished it. Score!
Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige - Speaking of beautiful books... I can't wait to read this one either!
Replica by Lauren Oliver - I love these covers! And the story sounds amazing too!
Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson and Robin Wasserman - I just happened to spot this when Jen and I went to Dymocks in Melbourne CBD. I had no idea it was even out at that point and there it was! I didn't even hesitate!
Fruits Basket Collector's Edition Volumes 2, 3 & 4 by Natsuki Takaya - I absolutely adore these editions and I was so thankful I could add these to my collection!
This is the end of my photos! This isn't even the end of my November haul!
Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor Volumes 4 & 5 - The Then and the Now + The One - I had been looking for these since the first one came out and I'm still missing volume 2 but whatever! Get them while I can!
The next couple of books I bought from Jen. These were damaged in some way, and while I'm pretty fussy about the condition of my books, having these copies to read until I can replace them is fine by me. Some of these may not even be bad enough to replace, so yay!
Mercy by Jodi Picoult - If I remember correctly, this is just an edition that was a cover that didn't match the rest of Jen's collection of Jodi Picoult novels.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - Another book that Jen didn't want because the cover didn't match the other Markus Zusak book. I do have the paperback of this book, but it was used when mum bought it, so it's a bit beaten up. I'll unhaul the paperback and keep this hardcover edition.
Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi - This edition was sent to Jen by Book Depository with a small cut in the cover, which damaged not just the dust jacket, but the hardcover beneath. It's not a big cut, so I was fine with taking it off her hands.
Kingdom of Ashes by Rhiannon Thomas - This book was sent to Jen by Book Depository with half a page (vertically) torn out. Whilst this does annoy me, I'm pretty sure I can fill in the blanks if I get the ebook.
The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J Maas - When Jen received this Hardcover copy, some of the pages were bent, like the person who packaged it dropped it or something. I just straightened the pages out and it's barely noticeable.
The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson - This book was sent to Jen by Book Depository with some kind of adhesive on the outer edge of the pages, effectively sticking them together. Whilst I did unstick each page, leaving the book on the shelf has made some of the pages restick. This is a bit annoying, but for a book I'll only ever read once (Maybe, I do have the paperback edition) this shouldn't bother me much.
And that's all the books I got from Jen!
Faery Tales by Carol Ann Duffy - I found this in Dymocks for $10. It was Hardcover, so I was thinking "What's wrong with it?" I opened to the contents and found only 5 stories listed, so thinking that was all there was in the book, I was weighing the decision to buy it. Jen picked up a copy and there were way more stories on the contents pages! The edition I had picked up had a misprint - there were literally blank pages where the rest of the contents should have been! So I found a copy without an error and bought it!
A Darker Shade of Magic and Vicious by VE Schwab - These were also purchased at Dymocks and I got them because it was the first time I'd seen them in a store (excluding online stores). I also prefer these covers because they have the same red, white, black theme going on.
The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski - I found this in a tiny bookstore in Melbourne CBD for $6.
The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys by Gerard Way - Having read all of the volumes in digital format, I really wanted this in physical format, and luckily, Minotaur in Melbourne had one last copy!
Veronica Mars: Mr. Kiss and Tell by Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham - I love the Veronica Mars TV show and movie, so when I saw this for $6.99 in another Dymocks store, I had to get it!
December
Oh, you thought I was done? Nope.
Once Upon A Dream by Liz Braswell - I found this in Target Country for $10!
Betrothed by Wanda Wiltshire - I've had the second book in this series for ages and couldn't find this at a decent price. I've been wanting to read it and now I can!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by JK Rowling - I haven't seen the movie yet, but I really enjoyed this!
Heir to the Sky by Amanda Sun - I haven't read Amanda Sun's Paper Gods series (though I wanted to, then the book disappeared from local stores and I haven't gotten back to looking for them) but I really enjoyed this! It has been getting some mixed reviews, so it may not be for everyone.
The Twelve Doctors of Christmas - Various authors - A new Doctor Who book! Yay! What I love most about this hardcover edition is that it matches Timelord Fairy Tales and it has some amazing coloured artwork!
Kanin: The Complete Chronicles by Amanda Hocking - I already have the Trylle series in omnibus format, so I wanted this too. The only issue I have is that Trylle has a velvety matte cover while this is shiny. I do prefer the binding on Kanin though.
A Thousand Nights and Kingdom of Sleep (AKA Spindle) by EK Johnston - While I do already have A Thousand Nights in hardcover, I saw these sitting side by side in the store and I scooped them up without a second thought. Look how gorgeous those covers are!!
Assassin's Heart by Sarah Ahiers - This book grabbed me as soon as I read the synopsis. An assassin Romeo and Juliet story? YES PLEASE.
A Million Worlds With You by Caludia Gray - I already have the first two books in the series, so adding this one was a no brainer.
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss - I have been interested in this book since it was first released, but was always on the edge of buying it. Finally, watching some Booktubers talking about it has pushed me into getting it.
Dark Serpent by Kylie Chan - Whilst this book is first in a series, it's not the first book in the world the author has created, so it'll be a while before I get to this one. Also, I bought it for $4 brand new!
The Martian by Andy Weir - I have been wanting to read this for a long time now, and I'm currently halfway through! This was a Christmas gift from my younger sister.
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh - I've wanted this for a long time, and thanks to Jen, I have it! This was my Christmas present from her.
Guess what? I'm finally out of books! Plus, at the time that I posted this, I haven't bought a single book for January! Go me!
