Feb 2016 YA Chronicles
Finally got around to sorting out the February YA Chronicles!
February's theme was "Rebel with a cause".
The first item was a tea inspired by The Lunar Chronicles. I always prefer to drink tea when the weather cools down, so I might save this one for... Winter ;)
Then there was this Dauntless Cake lip balm by From The Page on Etsy. I've already used quite a bit of this. There is no taste, but the scent is amazing! Ingredients: Coconut oil, candellila wax, sweet almond oil, avocado oil and chocolate flavour oil. Available here.
And then there were these adorable Throne of Glass stickers by The Sticker Alley!! Hands down my favourite item in the box! Characters (L to R): Rowan, Celaena, Chaol and Dorian. Available here.
Next up was this Hunger Games poster. While I do love The Hunger Games, I don't really want this poster, so I'm giving it to Jen, since a mix up meant she didn't get her Feb box.
This month's bookmark.
And finally, the book...
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton. The cover of this book is stunning! Also included were the bookmark and pin. Not sure what I'll do with the pin yet, but if I get enough of them, I might make a hanging banner style display for them.
About the book:
"Tell me how you want your story to go, he says, and we'll write it straight across the sand.
Dustwalk is an unforgiving, dead-end town. It's not the place to be poor or orphaned or female. And yet, Amani Al'Hiza must call it 'home'.
Amani wants to escape and see the world she's heard about in campfire stories.
Then a foreigner with no name turns up, and with him she has the chance to run.
But the desert plains are full of dangerous magic. The Sultan's army is on the rise and Amani is soon caught at the heart of a fearless rebellion...
An epic story of swirling desert sands, love, magic and revolution."
