How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Via Goodreads. I have separate TBR shelves that are for series, standalones, classics and also eBooks. I find it much easier to keep track of my TBR books by sorting them in that way. I try and add new books to GR as soon as I buy them, but I’m not always great at keeping up with that. I do however have a word document in which I make a note of every single book I buy and from time to time I will go through that list and find any books that I haven’t added to GR yet.
Is your TBR mostly print or eBook?
Definitely mostly print. I do buy eBooks when I see them for reasonably cheap prices, but there’s just nothing that beats looking over at your bookshelves and seeing them full of pretty, pretty books!
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I am very much a mood reader so it’s just whatever I feel like reading at the time. I do try and prioritise my unfinished series, but sometimes I just want to read something else instead.
A book that's been on your TBR list the longest
The first three books in The Selection series by Kiera Cass. According to my word document, I bought these books on 28th November 2014! Way back when they were only supposed to be a trilogy! I found out that there were more books planned so I kept putting off reading them until all the books in the series had been released. However I still haven’t gotten to them because I just have too many other books that also need my attention!
A book you recently added to your TBR
The most recent book that I bought was The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. I bought it on a whim because I do want to watch the adaptation and I saw it in the bookshop for a decent price. So, why not?
A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken and The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows are probably some of my favourite beautiful covers. But they were added to my TBR because the stories interested me enough that I wanted to read them.
I actually don’t buy books purely for the cover. The most important thing is that story itself has to sound appealing to me. A beautiful cover is a bonus.
A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading
I actually don’t have an answer for this question. I’ve unhauled the few books that I didn’t want to read, so every single book that is currently on my TBR I definitely plan on reading. It just may take me quite a while to get to them all.
An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for
I have so many! But the ones that I’m most excited for are:
Untitled Throne of Glass #7 by Sarah J. Maas
The Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare
Obsidio (The Illuminae Files #3) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you
Again, so many. I feel like I’m out of the loop on so many of the older popular YA series because I just haven’t gotten to them yet.
Under the Never Sky trilogy by Veronica Rossi
Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor
Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The Grisha trilogy & Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo
Anything by Victoria Schwab/V.E. Schwab
Pushing the Limits series by Katie McGarry
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you
I feel like most of the books I listed for the previous question could also apply to this one. But these are probably the most talked about and most recommended ones:
Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor
Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
The Grisha trilogy & Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo
A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys. I read Between Shades of Grey earlier this year and I loved it so much. One of my favourite books and the one book that I needed to read to get into the historical fiction genre.
How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
I’m pretty sure that my GR shelves aren’t totally accurate because I’ve bought books that I haven’t added to GR yet, but after adding up my multiple TBR shelves, I have 320 books. That’s just books that I own. I didn’t include books that I want to read or ones that are on my wishlist, which makes that kind of a scary number.

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Basically, I don't. My TBR pile is strictly an endless list in my head that keeps track of the books that I want to read.
Is your TBR mostly print or eBook?
I'd say my TBR (or entire book collection in general) is 98% print. I love print books, but I had avoided eBooks because reading on my phone or tablet gave me major eyestrain. I have a Kobo eReader as of August this year and it's just so convenient, especially for travel, or if there's a monster of a book that I can't be bothered wrangling. (I'd avoided eReaders because of the eyestrain thing, but after a friend showed me his, I bought the same model. It's the Kobo Glo and I found it super cheap at JB HiFi (online) for around $99. It's a refirbished model, but I've had no problems with it, and it has a year warranty if something does go wrong.)
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I pick up a book, read a few chapters and see if it sticks. Sometimes it depends on what I'm in the mood for, but mostly it's random, since I pick from a limited number of genres - usually fantasy or sci-fi.
A book that's been on your TBR the longest
Ha! Where to start? I've been buying books since I was a kid, and I have books that go way back that I never got around to reading, but I've kept them with the intention of eventually reading them. I think I'll pick something from the last 10 years at least:
Eldest by Christopher Paolini - I've had this book since 2007, started reading it and just never finished it. I even have the next two books in the series, which have just sat on my shelves since the day I bought them!
A book you recently added to your TBR
There are actually a few that I want to add here:
This Savage Song by VE Schwab - This was really cheap for an eBook when I bought it, and I already have Our Dark Duet in print, so this has quickly moved up my TBR list!
The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles - I didn't know a thing about the book at first, even though people were talking about it. But when I read the synopsis and noticed it was the last copy in the store, I snapped it up real quick!
The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James - I loved her other book The Next Together so much, but wasn't so impressed by The Last Beginning. However, since this is a completely new story, there's a good chance I'll really enjoy it, especially since it's set in space!
A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover
I'm also not a fan of getting a book strictly because of the cover. There needs to be an interest in the story too. Here's one that came close though:
The Mirror King by Jodi Meadows - Yep, I love this cover too! It's probably my favourite cover so far.
Also, I just had an epiphany! I don't really need multiple copies of Harry Potter (these will forever be on my TBR as rereads), but I have two full sets and the current illustrated editions. The only reason I have a second full set is because I loved the 2014 UK editions! And I intend on buying all of the illustrated editions, purely because they're illustrated. So if those don't count, I'm a freaking mermaid!
A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading
For starters, this question makes no sense! If I didn't plan on reading a book, it wouldn't be on my TBR. But I recently got a book from my sister (The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper) that I didn't realise is a second book in a series. She never had the first one, but upon researching it some more, I've discovered it has a movie adaptation (called The Seeker - I've heard of it but didn't make the connection) and very mixed reviews (especially commenting on the parallels with Harry Potter and especially emphasising that this series was written in the 1970's), so whilst I'm currently on the fence about reading it, it's not a very high priority.
An unpublished book on your TBR that you're excited for
Throne of Glass #7 by Sarah J Maas - I need to know what happens!!!
Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - I love this series so much and it's so much fun to read! I also can't wait to see how the series ends!
Ironheart by Jodi McAllister - I read Valentine earlier this year and I loved it! It's out in Feb 2018, so five months. I can wait five months... right?
A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read but you
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell - I'm not a huge contemporary fan, so it might take me a really long time for me to actually get to this, but this is definitely a book that everyone else but me has read.
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you
Funny enough, I don't get too many recommendations, but when I do, they're never the same book! So here are some that I've been recommended:
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King
A Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin (I'm currently reading A Game of Thrones)
Jessica by Bryce Courtney
A book on your TBR that you're dying to read
Where the heck do I even begin? I have so many books that I want to read, that I can't possibly name one! It's an overwhelming amount that actually puts me into a slump because I just don't know what I should read!
How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
Nowhere near as many as there should be because I never use the Goodreads TBR. But the number currently stands at 160. There's probably books in there that I've already read too. Like I said, I never use it.
