May 2017 TBR

Jen
I feel like I started so many different books in April just because I was in the mood to read everything. There are so many exciting releases coming out in May that I would love to read but I also want to focus on my currently reading books and just finish them off before moving onto other books and hopefully making some headway on series currently in progress.

A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) & A Court of Wings and Ruin (ACOTAR #3)by Sarah J. Maas
I started this series last month and finished ACOTAR as well as making a start on ACOMAF. But I found that I just wasn’t in the mood for it so I put it down. I would love to finish it in May and possibly make a start on ACOWAR as well.

Fullmetal Alchemist (3-in-1 Edition) Volumes 6 by Hiromu Arakawa & Akira Watanabe
Again I started this in April but I was reading too many other things at once so I’ll definitely be aiming to finish this volume in May.

Soundless by Richelle Mead
This is a re-read for me. I was going to try to limit the number of re-reads this year so that I could focus on my many, many unread books instead, but I was just super in the mood to read this one. It was one of my favourite books of 2016 and I’m enjoying it just as much this time around.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Again, another re-read. But it’s been such a long time since I’ve read this one that I felt I needed to refresh my very poor memory before watching the TV show. I’m listening to the audiobook this time around and it’s great so far. I've watched a few episodes so far and I like that the adaptation is sticking pretty close to the book.

In the Afterlight (The Darkest Minds #3) & Through the Dark (novella collection) by Alexandra Bracken
It has taken me so long to get through this series and these two books have been at the back of my mind for months now so I really want to just read them and be done with the series so I can move onto other books. Probably not the best mindset to be going into a book, but that’s how I feel about this series.

Model Misfit (Geek Girl #2) by Holly Smale
I just randomly decided to read Geek Girl last month and it was a quick read that I really enjoyed so I would like to continue on with the next book in the series.

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer
This is one series that I have heard nothing but amazing things about. I’ve owned all the books for about a year now and it’s a series that I’ve been dying to read for even longer. I really hope that it will actually happen!

Always and Forever, Lara Jean (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before #3) by Jenny Han
I have to admit that when I first heard that this book was happening, I was not filled with joy. I thought that these books worked well as a duology (and so did the author originally!). Rather I was apprehensive and mad because I did not want my ship messed with! And that was the main reason I was actually dreading this book. Not gonna lie, I actually looked up spoilers about the love triangle because if it didn’t end how it was supposed to, then I would’ve just pretended that this book never existed. Thankfully, I can now look forward to reading this book and enjoying some Jenny Han greatness. It’s been a long time indeed since she last came out with a new book.

For starters, I want to finish two books that I started in April, then finally finish reading Fruits Basket! The last volume is on the way and I'll probably drop everything to see how the whole series ends! The rest of the month will be picking up whatever I happen to be in the mood for.

Model Misfit by Holly Smale - I read the first one about two years ago and just haven't gotten around to reading further into the series. And since I was in the mood for contemporary last month, I decided to pick this up for a light read.

Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly - This is a tale that takes place in the middle of Beauty and the Beast and ties in with the recent film version. So far, it's tieing in well and I can't wait to read some more!

Fruits Basket Collector's Edition Volume 12 by Natsuki Takaya - Last one! I'm so excited!
